Algebraic constructive quantum field theory: Integrable models and deformation techniques

چکیده
Several related operator-algebraic constructions for quantum field theory models on Minkowski spacetime are reviewed. The common theme of these constructions is that of a Borchers triple, capturing the structure of observables localized in a Rindler wedge. After reviewing the abstract setting, we discuss in this framework i) the construction of free field theories from standard pairs, ii) the inverse scattering construction of integrable QFT models on two-dimensional Minkowski space, and iii) the warped convolution deformation of QFT models in arbitrary dimension, inspired from non-commutative Minkowski space. 1 Algebraic constructions of quantum field theories 1 2 Operator-algebraic constructions based on wedge algebras 5 2.1 Wedges . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5 2.2 Wedge algebras and Borchers triples . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9 2.3 Standard pairs and free field theories . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 13 2.4 Relative commutants of wedge algebras . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 17 3 Integrable models and inverse scattering theory 21 3.1 Factorizing S-Matrices . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 22 3.2 Construction of Borchers triples from two-particle S-matrices . . 26 3.3 Regular S-matrices and the modular nuclearity condition . . . . 33 3.4 Discussion of the constructed models . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 35 3.5 Massless models . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 38 4 Deformations of quantum field theories by warped convolution 41 4.1 Warped convolutions and Rieffel deformations . . . . . . . . . . . 42 4.2 Borchers triples and warped convolutions . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45 References 49 ∗Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Leipzig, [email protected].

Dressing Operator Approach to Moyal Algebraic Deformation of Selfdual Gravity
Recently Strachan introduced a Moyal algebraic deformation of selfdual gravity, replacing a Poisson bracket of the Plebanski equation by a Moyal bracket. The dressing operator method in soliton theory can be extended to this Moyal algebraic deformation of selfdual gravity. Dressing operators are defined as Laurent series with coefficients in the Moyal (or star product) algebra, and turn out to ...
متن کاملConstructive aspects of algebraic euclidean field theory
This paper is concerned with constructive and structural aspects of euclidean field theory. We present a C*-algebraic approach to lattice field theory. Concepts like block spin transformations, action, effective action, and continuum limits are generalized and reformulated within the C*-algebraic setup. Our approach allows to relate to each family of lattice models a set of continuum limits whi...
متن کاملConformal field theory and integrable systems associated to elliptic curves
It has become clear over the years that quantum groups (i.e., quasitriangular Hopf algebras, see [D]) and their semiclassical counterpart, Poisson Lie groups, are an essential algebraic structure underlying three related subjects: integrable models of statistical mechanics, conformal field theory and integrable models of quantum field theory in 1+1 dimensions. Still, some points remain obscure ...
متن کاملConstructive use of holographic projections Dedicated to Klaus Fredenhagen on the occasion of his 60th birthday
Revisiting the old problem of existence of interacting models of QFT with new conceptual ideas and mathematical tools, one arrives at a novel view about the nature of QFT. The recent success of algebraic methods in establishing the existence of factorizing models suggests new directions for a more intrinsic constructive approach beyond Lagrangian quantization. Holographic projection simplifies ...
متن کاملDeformations of the Monge/riemann Hierarchy and Approximately Integrable Systems
Dispersive deformations of the Monge equation uu = uux are studied using ideas originating from topological quantum field theory and the deformation quantization programme. It is shown that, to a high-order, the symmetries of the Monge equation may also be appropriately deformed, and that, if they exist at all orders, they are uniquely determined by the original deformation. This leads to eithe...
